For #1, this can be resolved by simply resetting your computers NVRAM & SMC. We've made an article that tells you how to do that exactly. It can be found here
For #2, we found in our testing that higher quality cables that are used with Arc Hub results in a consistent signal to an external monitor. We recommend switching to a Belkin or Startech brand of cable to use with your Arc Hub to avoid any issues with no signal and/or screen flickering.
